The Marlins will be managed by 80 year old Jack McKeon.

If he does well this year, look for the Cubs to sign him to a long term contract.

That sneaky Tony LaRussa has found a way to improve the Cards defense. Lance Berkman will be pulled from his outfield spot to replace Albert Pujols at first base. LaRussa is excited about the new alignment and thinks this will improve the Cards chances at winning.

The Dodgers have found a way to keep the press from knowing who their closer is, or for that matter, if it is a closer by committee.

They just don't win.

Since June 1, the Dodgers have won just six times, needing a closer in only two of those games.

This should help other teams in the future. Losing Broxton, Kuo, and Jansen to the disabled list was no problem at all.

Can RotoWorld please quit this kind of line?--

'So and so, says that he expects to be ready after the minimum stay on the disabled list is over'

It hardly ever REALLY happens and the player says it, because he wants it to be true.

Argenis Benitez was signed by the A's in 2003. From the Dominican Republic, he could hit a fastball a mile, but couldn't touch any pitch with a bend in it.

The A's gave up on him.

The Rangers signed him. They liked his arm. In a scheme to get off the island, he signed up for a scam that would give him an American wife on paper so that he could become an American. The human trafficing scam failed and Benitez was forced to stay on the Dominican Island. During 2006-10, Benitez and the Rangers fought to get him off the island and finally succeeded before spring training of last year.

By then, Benitez had honed his pitching and was already Major League ready.

In the process, he also changed his name back to his real name, Alexi Ogando. O-O!.

One of my favorite names in baseball is returing.

Wily Mo Pena.

The name could just as easily be that of Miss Georgia entering the Miss America beauty pagaent.

But, Pena is a guy that can make Mike Stanton look small. It is incredible to watch him hit a ball hard, unfortunately, it doesn't happen often enough. But, he is still a fun watch.

I read Baseball America and others spouting about how good the Royals should be in a few years. Baseball folks know it just won't happen the way Royals fans envision.

Pitchers have Tommy Johns and some hitters just don't pan out.

Even if hitters do work out, Kansas City is a small market team, they won't stay long. Johnny Damon, Jermaine Dye, and Carlos Beltran were all in the Royals system at the same time. All went on to become stars. The Royals saw some benefit from this group, but no inkling of a playoff future.

After being sent down to the minors, Chris Coghlan fessed up and said he had knee problems.

Coghlan had kept the knee a secret from the Marlins.

It was only after he was sent down to the minors that Coghlan thought he'd rather be thought of as hurting, and not sucking.

The Angels are paying Vernon Wells and Scott Kazmir over 30 million dollars this year.

Most call them overpaid.

While some call them future Cubs.

The Dodger bullpen has not had much fantasy value to date, and I wonder if it will have much going forward.

I continue to be amazed at how much is being spent on it, though. In my Main Event League, $629 has been bid and six Dodger relievers have been "won", a 9th round draft pick used on Broxton, and another $19 on Ruby DLR, if you want to include him because he was relieving at the time. WOW.
