It is odd to still see my FAAB requests still sitting out there. Not sure if I could change them and am afraid to try. Last year there were weeks that all the bids were resolved by now - 7:28.

Clearly first time jitters. FAAB bids have been processed and you should be able to see them now. Again under 30 minutes. Not bad for the first week.

Mike, make sure you hit refresh to see the winning bids. Or log out and log back in.

shocked to see it done a mere 5 minutes after my post. Curious to see the runner-up bids. NY7 had a couple of very large FAAB numbers.

We have planned to show runnerup bids for each FAAB pickup this year. It's possible that STATS hasn't completed that as of tonight. I just talked to them and we'll hook up with their programmer tomorrow and finish that this week for the Week 1 bids if it doesn't get completed yet tonight. But yes, the plan is to show runnerup bids without the owners' name in each league. The first one may just come later than expected.

On my league it gives a $ amount for players released. For example, I dropped Kent Mercker and picked up Derrick Turnbow. It says Kent Mercker waiver release $52/Turnbow waiver pickup $62. What does the $52 signify?



Also, someone in my league picked up Luke Scott for $416 which seemed...interesting. Got to have that Luke Scott. Any chance it's a mistake?

Luke Scott went for 75 in NY 7. Taveres for 417. Gotta have that Willy Taveras.

this guy spend $527 of his total dollars THIS WEEK! Wow....



Anyway, I believe that I tied another bid for Keith Ginter but it gave it to another player because I was higher on the initial draft list... Oh well! for $1 more dollar I could have had him

Actually, the guy only spent $402 on Luke Scott. It was Juan Rivera that he spent $416 on. So he has $82 left to spend this season.



It's like giving money to a 5 year old.

I have been told the site is now showing the runnerup bids for every player now. Thanks STATS for making this possible.

Maybe they thought they get $1,000 a week !!

any spot where you can see the remaining free agent dollars for all teams?

So the total runner-up bids in out league for Scott and Rivera were $30. He could have had them for $32 instead of $818.



I know no one takes me seriously but I don't think I'm the only one who asked what the $ amounts on players released mean.

Look under the owner's list under League Info.

luke scott is a bargain for $400+ , if the team is happy with him thats what counts,,please more teams feel free to spend $,,,,its not real $ anyway!

He also spent 400+ on Juan Rivera. The point is this: Go over to your local grocery and spend all your food money for the year on whatever's on sale. Sure you might get a good deal on a whole lot of candy, but two months from now you might actually want some vegetables. Sorry, no more money. You'll be stuck with the candy that's making you sick.

I wasn't about to spend $400 on any one player this early. I would rather beat someone by $350 than lose by $1 on a player that I felt I needed.



Throughout the season there will only 5-6 players tops that will warrant competitive bids. Most of else will end the year with over $500 in FAAB $$ leftover. Who's being cheated then?



On the flip side, I'm glad that I didn't mess my draft up enough to force me to spend $800+ on 2 OF.

Taveras was the high bid for $121

Scott went for $42



Someone in my league alreadys spoent over a quarter of their FAAB money on Taveras, Chirch, Gotay, and D. Cabrera. Yikes!



I got Pickering at $26, Juan Cruz at $16, and Bruce Chen for $11.

I went for two free agents. With my lack of speed, I felt I HAD to go after Taveras and did get him for a "bargain" $201. Could've spent $100 less, but felt I could not risk it. That is what you get for a draft day faux pas.



I missed out on Jeff DaVanon by $6 (bid $47, went for $52) but that was a flyer because I felt he would be a better back up that who I had (mucho upside).



Anyway, knowing the second place bids is great information.

$417 is a lot for a ninth hitter destined for the minors.

Is he that bad a hitter, that they are going to have the pitcher hit ahead of him?

One problem with Wily Taveras. He will be hitting 8th in the lineup so every time he gets on base the pitcher will be up next. If its less than two outs the pitcher will be bunting him over so his steal opportunities will be considerably reduced.

you are still using old fashioned math! he could have had the amazing luke scott for $31 not $32,,anyway if he or any other owner thinks a $400+ bid is good thats great they deserve to spend there money where they choose..............
