I could ruin the moment and I don't want to do that, lol.
I think it's a very appropriate bid. Perhaps 469 would have been slightly better, but obviously more wasteful, too.

So to me he was a MUST have and to tell you the truth I thought I bid low at 417.
Go BABY GO!! It is impossible to know what anyone else is bidding; so if you have a need to fill you have to do what you think is right for your team. If he ends up stealing 50 bags he will prove to be worth more than what you bid. If it were an auction you whould know what the lowest bid is and bid $1 more. But these are blind bids, so you did what you felt you needed to do. I have no problem with you managing your team the way you feel is right.
Good luck,
Pete

If Dyv didn't hype Tavares so much in the last couple of weeks, the bidding would have been lower. He is single-handedly responsible for the outrageous bids on him.

DYV had nothing to do with my bid. Im the one who bid 361 , just like go baby go i really need a speed guy. If he keeps the job its an easy 40 to 60.He's also a very good defensive outfielder which could keep him in the lineup. When berkman comes back we will see who sits. I also bid 450 last year to get tony womack , he was worth every penny. Now to be honest im kind of happy not to have one my bid for taveras , my if bid was 31 for nady. For the price he could be huge, the kid keeps hitting. So everybody's happy except the guy who bid 22 on NADY.

Eddie, I was being facetious about Dyv being responsible. I would have thought the

would have made that clear. I love Tavares, and it's quite possible he could be almost as valuable as Podsednick and certainly as much as Alex Sanchez, if he plays all year.

Well, he doesn't have the kind of power Sanchez does--seriously. Maybe this is Sanchez without the roids. Dyv really did get me so excited about Tavares, I picked him up in my league where the worst team wins (they need to suck and have at bats).

To be honest, SBs don't count; slugging percentage does.

He'll be almost as tremendously bad as my all-star bad player Mike Matheny. I'm really excited about the team this year.

And let's be realistic - if my talk has at all increased the bids that everyone else had to pay then my only simple response is 'thank you'
He's just another 'if' on my squad of wild chances.
Run Wily, run.
Dyv
p.s. Luke Scott, feel free to hit .211 for April.
