If there is a one game playoff, do you get to reset your lineup?

Not sure, but I can't think of any reason why you would be able to.

In the past the one-game playoff was occurring on either a Monday/Tuesday. (a new stat period).

My guess is that if the playoff occurs on Thursday it will be part of the current period (Mon-Thursday). If for some reason it got pushed to Friday, then yes it would open up but Greg/Tom will need to rule.

A 3-way tie for the AL wild card, which is still a possibility, would put a game on Friday.

No, it states right in the rules that any regular season playoff game does count in the NFBC standings because Major League Baseball recognizes these as regular season games. This has happened before in the NFBC as veterans know. No, you can't change your lineup for the additional games, per the rules again.

Greg:

Not to be a pain in the butt, but there still seems enough of a vague area that if this isn't broken down, it "could" cause some issues.

Let me break down your responses and re-ask the questions.

"states right in the rules that any regular season playoff game does count in the NFBC standings because Major League Baseball recognizes these as regular season games."

I understand this to mean that the stats from a one day playoff game COUNT. Straight forward enough.....understood. I think the original question was - will we be given an opportunity to reset our lineups on Thursday if this takes place? My guess is, NO - because the game will take place within the final lineup period. If I want to "protect" myself, I must play the guys from the Sox, Rays, Angels, Braves, and Cards at the Monday deadline if I want to be given credit for the one game playoff on a Thursday.

Now - PART II. Mr Zola has pointed out that ( unlikely ) there could be a three way tie for the AL Playoffs. If this occurs, there will be an ADDITIONAL game on Friday. As per the NFBC rules, this would be a new period in which changes would be allowed. Will all teams be allowed to treat this Friday game as a new window and make changes to our existing lineups? So, better to be clear on this on Monday just in case something happens to extend the season.

Thanks.

Thanks. No, there will not be any possible lineup changes this week, even if a game is held on Friday. As you can see on your team page, this is the last possible Period to set lineups. The season is set to end after Wednesday's games and if MLB has tie-breaker games they are part of Week 27. So set your starting lineup tonight and enjoy the rest of the season. Good luck all.
