Can someone please update me on the status of Gordon Gekko's place in the standings? We're 5 weeks into the season so I'm expecting he should be in the top 1/3 at least. More likely, he's dominating in first place. He was my mentor going into the draft.

my auction team was in first place until my pitchers got bombed this weekend.

thanks for asking.

13th place,

Spent a little too much time on here running his mouth and not enough preparing. Overkilling saves will end up hurting him worse than a tough start of Thome and Wells in the long run.

217! That's horrible...that's terrible...oh, wait...I am in 212 and I don't have Thome to blame!

Nevermind!

overkill in saves. won't happen. once i build up a sizeable save lead, i'll transition to more SP in my lineup.
Maybe you just got lucky in football? So having so many saves that you stash away a closer on your bench is solid strategy? It is no fluke you are in 13th place in your league. Nice pick on Lyon late though. You are the poster child for how to do it the right way on saves except picked one too many early and overkilled it. Good luck in football.. Thanks for the donation to someone in baseball.

I think GG has it right on the Saves - He drafted two top closers and two flyers: Lyon and Brazoban. When Gagne returns he will be down to three "Save guys" and with Billy Wagner (who I drafted as one of my three closers) projected - by some - to miss time this year, his early saves pace is not Overkill.

Figuring SP get more wins then RP the Master should be able to make up a Win a month over the pack and be in the top 25%ile in wins. K's will come with up too when he starts throwing more then five SP.

His WHIP and ERA will both work themself out as he doesn't have any anchors (like Oliver Perez).

I still think Gekko will finish first in "trash talk" and in the top 20% overall.

Mark,

No need for secrecy like yourself I thought you knew my team sorry it is Ambrosious's Mustache. Have fun with it. I will take any advice I can after the slide we have been in the last 3 days.
Or don't draft Benitez, and you are completely right about the Hudson move.

One thing I share with great Mark Srebro is we both drafted Crawford a little earlier than most, I have yet to regret it.

A rib cage injury is tough though and perhaps he hits a 30/30 type pace for a long stretch.

Gekko/Chest,

Wells will come back some, but 30/100 is certainly in jeopardy. On the bright side, him stealing a couple bases means his ribs are fine now.

(DISCLOSURE: I took him in the 7th round - 1st pick)
Hey moron- what are you up by about 10 spots, a little sad that you wait until the one stretch of time where you are ahead by the slightest margin to post this. You would not take my bet on w 2's when you were telling lies about how rich you are. How about this one- who ever finishes lower never plays here again under any format?
I unlike you do not have time to go searching through old threads, one of the guys who encourages me to continue messing with you will find it. I tend to not worry about a team getting ahead of me for a short period of time. Once again you duck a challenge. Tell me in advance where you are drafting next year so I can make fun of you to your face.
One more time really slowly- head to head this year who ever finishes lower never plays in the NFBC under any name- or if you want a fresh start I am participating mid season join in money bags. Before you go to fast- I will close every loophole I can promise you that- you lose and you are done forever. If you are so good, and you are clearly ahead it should not be a big deal.

My other team of interest, that stuff is just pathetic.

Chest, why don't you make the bet something other than 'go away forever' - really I'm sure Greg wouldn't like anyone driving away clients ;)

Has to be a better bet available than that?

Dyv Yeah, I usually tell those guys to take a deep breath, let Gordon continue to holler "miss it, miss it" as you stand over the putt and then just drill it in the bottom of the cup. And then I suggest that you make a bet that includes who buys in the clubhouse and who buys the house a round. That's more productive than "never play in the NFBC again." What the hell fun is that?
simple enough- change it to never post on these boards again? No revenue lost- although I would still do that one too.
