Kevin, these mid-season leagues are made for you! Time for a second chance!

I do not know about the worst, but in this early part of the season, I certainly did not expect Rolen, Renteria, Dotel, Casey, and Matsui to be THIS bad. There is still time to turn it around (thats right, Wayne, keep telling yourself that).

I cant believe the pain they have caused me. I just lost luis matos for 6 weeks. It doesnt end.

On the bright side i did get eric bedard and jason marquis in round 20 and 21, they have kept me alive , if the studs ever come back . MAYBE

We took Tejada in the 1st who has been fantastic, but our 2nd and 3rd round picks were Jim Thome and Eric Chavez. I don't think you could get much less production out of two early round picks.



If it wasn't for some of our late picks, ie: Tino and Laroche, we'd be hurting in power right now bigtime.

You think? How about this for lack of production out of my first 5-6 spots.

The saving grace is my pitching is great.Next year I dont draft a starter that early.

Well, not sure about just the top 5 rounds, but overall you can find me at #291 currently. I didn't enjoy drafting in the 15 hole, found it uncanny how nearly every round I was forced to choose between guys I didn't even want on my team. I could only compare draft day to taking the CPA exam in terms of anxiety.



My bench is now nearly full of my injured players, with 3 more SPs and one CL going down this week. How's this for injuries?

Piniero (not injured just demoted)

Bernie Williams (to be expected)



My challenge at this point is determining which of my injured underperformers with value I have to drop in order to pick up slop pitchers in FAAB to complete a roster!!

Yeti, when i look at your list, I see that it is not all bad luck. Rolen was known to have shoulder problems at the draft, Schmidt is always taking a chance, Lofton has a recent history of his leg injuries, Percival was a known question, Piniero has never thron 8 games in a row and Bernie was a known issue. I think your drafting did this to you

If you take another look at my message, there is no mention of "bad luck". My only real "bad luck" was drawing the 15th pick in the draft where I had no choice but to pick between several question marks since all of the "sure things" were off the board. My league did a good job drafting, and many of my picks I felt like I had to make, despite them not being the guys I wanted on my roster (which always seemed to go 2 or 3 picks before my own). My biggest mistake was waiting on outfielders for value later on, and missed out on several guys I wanted like Luis Gonzalez, getting a guy like Percival instead because I feared not getting a second closer at all, as fast as they were coming off the board. That's how I ended up with reaches like Lofton and Bernie in the OF later on. Didn't even mention V-Mart and Byrnes contribution to my team. Anyway, good luck to you gordon.

shimdt been a monster the last 2 years , with no major injuries. I dont no whats happened. Hopefully the dl will help him out.HOW could the tigers give the 33 year old percival , hurt last year for about half the season , 14 millon. You already have urbina, grab another starter with that money. IF you look at percivals strikeouts to innings pitch last year should have told you their could be a promblem.

Fortunately, I grabbed up Urbina later on, but this was part of my problem. I also took Guardado, and therefore Putz, so I had 4 RPs after about 22 rounds. Didn't help me with my weak outfield, that's for sure. I'm not giving up yet, still think I'll get a lot of production, but the season hasn't been fun to date. This appeared to be the thread for complaining about our bad drafts, so was taking advantage of it.

On Rolen, yes, there were concerns about his shoulder (as there were concerns over Pujols foot, etc.) But this injury I think can be considered a bit freakish...after all, what are the odds of running into a Korean brick wall way over here in the US!



I do not have Schmidt, and yes he has an injury history, but look at the results he has put up around those injuries...still makes him a very solid early round play. As I remember, there was a lot of buzz about Pedro Martinez's health and recent history as well.



I guess my only point is you have to gamble at some point with the risks (injuries, team, park, manager, contracts, STD's, religious conversions, nuclear proliferation, asteroids, hemorrhoids, etc.). Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose.
