NFBC Game Site Will Be Live Today

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Thu Mar 11, 2004 5:15 am

STATS, Inc., will create the live game site for all NFBC members to see today and every NFBC member will receive their ID number and password via e-mail today from STATS. At that time, you will be able to pick a team name. Again, we can not have any duplication of team names because of the overall contest, so don't fret if you're not allowed to grab your favorite name. We'll work with everyone to make this right.

So look for that e-mail and then let me know what you think of the game site. We'll take your suggestions and make that right before Opening Day.

Getting closer to the Draft, Vegas and forgetting about work for awhile...seeing the STATS site up finally makes it all the more real...

I got in and set my team name.

If someone figures out how to change their password, would they post it here. I sent an e-mail via the REPLY option but have no idea if that will actually work. HELP is not operative as of yet.

Hard to tell anything right now on the site but I do see that players are shown at positions for which they do not have NFBC eligibility - Brad Fullmer, for instance, is listed as a 1B but he is only UTIL qualified.

Yes, don't panic on the eligibility issues just yet as the first step was to make this live and allow you guys to get your passwords, IDs and team names registered. I will hook up with STATS tomorrow on the rest. I'm not much help with questions here, but I'll e-mail my contact at STATS tonight and make sure he's checking this thread. Ask anything here and hopefully Jim will answer you online. Any and all suggestions are recommended here.

I wasn't panicking. It was just an initial observation and you wanted observations. I'm sure there will be a week or two of "bugs" to work out. Now to come up with a clever logo.

What openings in Las Vegas on the auctions if any?

I'm about to sign up for one.

if anyone didn't get a signup email and wants to get access to their account, the game site is here and there is a link off that page to have your password emailed to you. there were a few co-managers for whom we didn't get email addresses, so we'll be sending their login information to their partners to forward to them tomorrow.

Walla Walla, we would weally wove to have wa. There are two spots open in the AL Auction League and two spots open in the NL Auction League in Las Vegas. A Pete Rose autographed baseball is waiting for you right here on my desk if you do me the favor of joining us in Las Vegas. Go ahead, make my night!!!

Seriously, I know we're going to fill up those Auction Leagues and we don't have to have a Sunday deadline for those. There's four spots open and we'll fill them with the most dedicated fantasy baseball players around. What a great group of guys we have assembled here.

Greg,

I signed up for the AL auction. You already owe me one baseball. Give the second one to a kid that would never get one. I trust your judgement on that one.

Did not get an email for my password and I'm not a co-owner. I went to the site to have my password emailed to me, put in my email address and have still not gotten an email back with my password. What gives?

Thanks Walla Walla. Glad to have you on board again. My kid doesn't have one, should I give it to him? NAH!! Will do.

Cellar Dwellers, hang tight. I'll e-mail Jim your e-mail address and get that set up. We'll make it work.

Okay Cellar, I just forwarded your e-mail address to Jim at STATS and I'm sure he will take care of that as soon as he can. Hang tight and quit work so late at nights. Call me if you have any problems.

Greg, I'm having the same problem as the Cellar Dwellers ... no email, no return of inquiry sent to STATS. Anything you could do would be appreciated. Thanks.

For the record, I changed by password, created my team name and uploaded a logo. Not that it makes you feel any better but the features do work.

Greg - I'm "playing two" (NYC AL Auction and NYC NFBC Draft). It looks like what I received yesterday was access to one team, most likely the NFBC Team. Will I get something for the AL Auction too?

Thanks,

Pete
OK - So I'm not as good as I thought I was; but at least I am consistent.

All is working well for me. I was able to change team name and and uplaod a logo without any problems. I think I even hacked in and rigged it so I had first pick. ;) ;)

For you unregistered posters it is a joke. I did not really hack in. I know someone would get on and go on and on about how they knew a snake draft wouldn't be fair if I didn't clarify this.

Hoosier, don't worry about the joke. I'm the only one who is in charge of picking the first pick and on Monday morning either my nine-year-old will pick all of the names out of a hat or another co-worker here will do it. It will be that scientific, but a whole lot of fun announcing the draft orders on Monday.

I say give the job to your 9 year old, Greg. He/She would be so thrilled! Heck, he/she would be picking the 1st $100K champion in Fantasy Baseball History. Man oh man, that would carry alot of weight on the playground! :D

Great post. Interestingly, my kids have NO clue what I do for a living and wouldn't even know what they were picking. Thus I'm leaning that way and just writing down one pick after another with a witness here, of course. I think we'd all get a kick out of that. We'll see.
