Thanks. I need all the help I can get as this is my first league in 10 years. I have a lot of catching up to do.

Do we need to draft a DH or is anyone eligible?

Big Fish: Nice to have you back in the hobby!

You do not have to draft a DH. If you do, however, that player must be placed on your utility spot. That utility spot can be any player, of any position. A player who only has DH eligability (Josh Phelps, Edgar Martinez, etc.) can only be placed in this utility spot.

Hey thanks everyone. I am definately in shark invested waters. I realized this a bit late but what the hell, it should be a riot. I just hope to be competitive for much of the year to keep it interesting. I have my sights and goals set much lower than perhaps the rest. If I can just be competitive it will be entertaining which is all I really expect. To win, well, that is more of a longshot for me than 300:1.

So how and when do we find out about draft positions...Anyone heading to NYC or only Chi-town players here?

Big Fish - I'll be in NYC. Don't let the sharks scare you off. Most of us drafting will walk away feeling good about some picks and not so good about others. Then, several of our "good picks" will get hurt or stink up the joint and a few of our "bad picks" will have breakout years. In the long run, managing the free agent waiver wire money, weekly lineups and keeping a healthy squad will determine who finishes where.

See you in NYC!

Ace: The draft orders are being placed on the "League Forum" section of the BB right now.

Well, I have been given the 14th pick. That is not exactly great for someone that is a bit rusty. It would have been easier to get one of the first 3 picks.

Congrats Pete. I am 14 league 1. I will introduce myself when I get to NYC on Sat. 3rd pick I wanted. What do you think...Soriano?

How bad is it to get stuck with 14th pick? I mean, I have no experience really doing this so at first I was luck...damn. But I guess I also get the 17th pick as well so perhaps it all evens out. Problem with 14th pick is now I have to consider a pitcher where before I was thinking A-Rod, Pujols, Soriano
