Hi all,
Sometime next week (once a small work bonus comes in), I will be registering for the main league and the mixed league in Las Vegas (even though I live in NY), vegas will be a blast
The question is: I have gotten a buddy of mine RT interested in joining as well. We love to compete against each other (we have played ESPN leagues together for 8 years) and we would like to play against each other in these leagues.
Is there any way to request this???
Regards,
Spyhunter (aka Chris Throop)

Chris, You cannot request placement in any specific league. Assignments are random to prevent any type of collusion or favoritism. The best chance you would have to play against each other would be in Chicago where there will probably only be 3 leagues - 4 tops. Vegas may have around 10 leagues.

It's a blind draw. Heck you should want different leagues that way both of you could end up winning a league.
There are several teams from the Leaderboard Sports group and we're hoping we get spread around and don't all end up in two or three leagues.

You will be competing against each other...for the 100K prize. One of you will still be able to claim bragging rights over the other in the overall standings. If you don't get in the same league together, you won't screw each other out of picks that you both wanted, which probably happened often if you know each other that well.

What give a lots of credibility to the NFBC is that it treats everyone the same and plays no favorites. Last season two of us that wrote for CreativeSports drafted in New York. From a pure writing perspective (more leagues could have been examined more closely) it would have been best if we were in different leagues. There were 5 NY leagues and we both were in NY4. Once Greg plays a favorite anywhere he will start down the road to failure.
