First Time NFBC Draft: Opinions?

Post by cpc115 » Tue Mar 06, 2007 8:08 am

This is my first draft with the NFBC. It was a satellite from last week. Anybody want to tell me how they think I did?

C- Ramon Hernandez, Ronny Paulino

1b- Texiera

2b- Orlando Hudson

3b- Garrett Atkins

SS- Felipe Lopez

OF- Ibanez, Byrnes, Giles, Rowand, Murton

CI- Adam LaRoche

MI- Ray Durham

U- Kevin Mench

P- Santana, Smoltz, Street, Fuentes, Beckett, Chuck James, Noah Lowry, Blanton, Padilla

Bench- Polanco, Biggio, Grudzalanek, Shin-soo Choo, Thames, Timlin, Betencourt

My bench was auto drafted because of a scheduling conflict I had made. Any thoughts?

My bench was auto drafted because of a scheduling conflict I had made. Any thoughts? Mostly I like. Your CM are awesome, and the MI has some nice value picks. Speed...looks like you ditched the category. OF and UT will break your heart.

I think you pitching staff will be great (though I am not a fan of Lowry but that is realy picky).
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

I agree- I was pretty impressed you were able to get Teixera and Santana on the same team. Nice work. Speed is going to be an issue, but you should be ok. I would just keep my eyes open for anyone in the OF breaking out!

Oh yea, to address the speed issue, after I drafted Johan Santana I felt like I had to go for the best power guys first. After that I took Lopez and all the 10 HR/ 10 SB guys I could get my hands on. Just hoping for one of them to surprise now.
