Does the NFBC have any plans for a high stakes online challenge?
Does the NFBC have any plans for a high stakes online challenge?
I would like to participate in the "live event" but cannot due to circumstances at home. I think there would be large interest in an event similar to the $100,000 NFBC event if it were held online. I am sure there are many people who, for whatever reason, cannot make it to one of the "live" destinations but would like the opportunity to compete for the money and title online. Since I am new to the NFBC, I don't know if this has been proposed before but I just thought I would ask.

This has been proposed before and I continue to say that I don't have any plans at this time to integrate the live high-stakes contest with online drafters. To me, it's not the same and the idea is to bring die-hard fantasy players together on Draft Day in a live setting.
That being said, I am going to unveil a new concept in 2008 that will involve a national contest drafting online. I don't have all the details finalized yet, but I'm working on a concept that would include an online contest. Our NFBC satellite leagues were a huge success and I think it might be time to take this a step further with a national online contest. Stay tuned as we'll unveil it in baseball in 2008 and eventually expand to football.
