I think Greg said he'd do that in September. I am not sure about the Hughes situation back in May, but there have been lots of others that haven't gotten the override privledge, so doing that now doesn't seem fair. I guess those are the breaks, pardon the pun.

On top of all this, Greg put Hughes on NFBC DL May 3rd and he had not been placed on MLB DL yet.
I've been way to busy the last few months, but I recall Greg saying that he'd manually override DL moves not made by Stats on time, like the Hughes move. Okay, let me clarify a few points on the Utley injury. First of all, he was hurt on THURSDAY afternoon, in the fifth inning. The Phillies may have filed papers after the game to put him on the DL, but I checked with STATS and MLB did not officially list him on the DL until Friday. We rely on Major League Baseball for this information and he was on the DL on Friday, not Thursday. Since he got hurt on Thursday, that doesn't surprise me.
As for John's example above about Hughes, he was hurt on a Tuesday night and we acted on Thursday as every information site had him on the DL. It's possible that MLB had him on the DL by our deadline, but I did act on Thursday before then to let our owners know that the DL designation would be appearing next to Hughes' name so they could plan accordingly on Friday.
I don't expect guys who get hurt on Thursday to quickly show up on the DL list before midnight, but I suppose anything is possible. If I had Utley on my team, I'd want that to happen, too. But again, we rely on the MLB DL lists for this information and he wasn't listed. And I'm not going to anticipate every Thursday injury by slapping a DL designation on those players as that isn't the intent of the rule.

Thanks for double checking. This was all I, for one, wanted to hear.
I've seen a couple of STATS goofs (i.e., Buress getting Guthrie stats Friday night) that still made me question whether this was an oversight or not. And I would have thought that if anyone had it right, it would have been MLB.com
I know there has to be a lot going on trying to juggle this with the football drafts.
By the way, could you check on Berkman, he's hitting like he should be on the DL.
Did the Astros put him on without telling anyone?

See...people underestimate the "squeaking wheel gets the grease" theory.
It's opposite of bragging up your player and cursing him to slump or injury.
Belittling your players seems to have a great effect!
Underutilised.
