I am pretty sure the date is March 21, 2009. And I think that it is the same four cities as this year, but I am not 100% about Orlando/Tampa.

Also . . . It seems that the 3rd Saturday of March is the common date. Should we expect this to continue?

We are booked at the Flamingo already and we'll post the room block link shortly. We have rooms at $189, which is a steal during March Madness. Ask for the GO rooms as they are sweet.

We are working on the other cities now as most of them don't book convention rooms sooner than 6 months in advance. We've been in touch with the New York Sheraton and we'll definitely be in Chicago again. I'm debating where to go for the fourth city and will ask for input on this first thing next week. I want to make the right choice on this one, so stay tuned.

I know some folks want us to move the draft date closer to Opening Day, but with MLB sometimes opening the season in Japan during the week before Opening Day, that makes it tough. For now, it makes the most sense to host this during the third Saturday of March, which just so happens to be March Madness too!! :D

If it comes down to Tampa or Orlando I would vote for Tampa.

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Paradise Island is like Vegas with the Ocean. You have everything except the crazy night life you have in Vegas but theres a sportsbook and plenty of other things to do. I would choose Paradise island over any other venue!!!

Greg,

May I recommend Memphis? ;)

Yes, I live here, but it sure would be easy for others to fly in and might increase the number of entries.
