Idea for another Draft at Main Event although probably asked before.

Post by spcohen74 » Thu Jan 29, 2009 10:18 am

I'm sure this has been brought up by someone else before so I might be asking a stupid question or I'm sure the entry fee is at 1,300 for a reason. I really would love to do the draft live at one of the sites but I just don't have the money to even pay for half of a team for that amount. I'm planning on doing an online team and splitting another but I love doing live drafts. Has there been any consideration of having another draft the same day as the main event leagues but more like a Main Event Jr. where the entry fee is less and the prizes are less?

It's a worthy question. The cost of renting space at these regional live events and paying for draft boards, facilitators and staff to run everything isn't small. Heck, we pay three staffers for each draft $100 each to make sure they are professionally run, so doing live events at $650 per team leaves very little for expenses and God forbid a profit.

For football we are going to offer a second live event at $750 per team this year and even with 300 teams you can see there is only $56,250 left before any expenses to run the drafts. When you're doing that in three cities, the costs eat that up pretty quickly.

Now if we went down and dirty....well....that's just not us. :D

Wow that's great news about the $750 nffc live contest....My comanager and I missed last year because he couldn't do it on labor day weekend so now this is more affordable for me as another option.

$750 NFFC Primetime, $40,000 grand prize (12 teams)

$2,000 for both contests if you sign up by July 1st.

We're shooting for 322 teams in the NFFC Classic and 300 teams in the NFFC Primetime. If we can get above 300 teams in the Primetime, maybe we can get the grand prize up to $50,000. Hopefully I can unveil everything in the next two weeks. Hope we can work this out. Still a grand prize for those who play both contests and for anyone who can win both titles.
