Draft practice?

Post by Lobbyist999 » Sun Dec 04, 2011 11:58 am

What happened to the Draftpractice mock site that used to work last year?

Also, are there any sites where you can do a 15-team NFBC style mock? mockdraftcentral typically uses 12 and 14 team drafts.

We did not have draftpractice.com. That was Fanball's mock draft site that was used in spring of 2010.

We are working with MockDraftCentral.com again this year and will be getting all NFBC owners free access to that site once they officially sign up on our site. MDC.com does have 15-team NFBC-style drafts and you folks can set up mocks whenever you'd like. Registration should be live this week and then we can get this started. Once folks sign up for an NFBC event, we'll get that info to MDC.com and you should receive a free invite for the off-season. Enjoy this new partnership and start mocking.

Any chance that MDC draft software replaces what we're currently using?

What is currently being used? Is there a practice draft room? Just wondering about being able to test functionality ... and become familiar with how it works ... before a real draft.

Thanks.

There isn't a mock draft site using our software. Sorry. But it's very easy to use and others can chime in to give their opinions, too. There are two software Draft Rooms: Flash and XTML. There is a player default list that is there when you first get in and you can set it as you'd like with your own player listing. There is a Que where you can set aside certain players and there is only one Draft button. There is a Search button to easily find players. When you're ready to draft a player, highlight that player and hit the Draft button. Very similar to other draft rooms you've used.

Thanks.

A couple of other things:

I like to change the draft rankings around, but it seems as if I'll have to do that for each team. Any plans to have a draft ranking that could be saved and applied to multiple teams?

Also, in reviewing the ADP list today, there is a live draft (http://nfbc.stats.com/baseball/draft/dr ... aft_type=2) listed. Was that for real or a test? Just wondering because of the listed #1 pick ...

#1 Edinson Volquez (SP, Cin) 1.00 1 1 1
#2 Matt Kemp (CF, LAD) 2.00 2 2 1
#3 Adrian Gonzalez (1B, Bos) 3.00 3 3 1

Agreed, it would be best if we could allow you to copy and paste your own default rankings. That is on our To-Do list and I'll get an update on that soon.

That was just a test league. Volquez's highest ranking in our ADP is 277, so it isn't pulling that data into our ADPs.
