How much room can we anticipate there being at the draft tables?

Some people will wanna show up with laptops, charts, graphs, and X-Ray glasses

Others will just need some room for a few sheets and a drink.

I'm doing an auction draft (NYC), but I'm sure people doing the snake drafts will want to know as well.

There will be room for two chairs per team. I just got out my trusty tape measure and that leaves about 3-4 feet per team. Nobody wider than that is allowed at the table, especially with a co-manager. Seriously, I'm sure there will be room for laptops and the like and if you're drafting alone there will easily be plenty of room for you to spread out as you can move the extra chair and take up both spots. Well, yes and no...



I don't know how 4 ft is going to actually play out at the draft.

I've been to many drafts where you just feel like the other guy is on top of you.

Personally, I have a partner and if everyone has a partner it sounds like it's going to be tight.



I don't want to be thinking that the guy next to me is looking over my shoulder or that my discussions with my partner will be overheard.



After all, there's a lot of money on the line here and you never know about the guy next to you.



I'm sorry if I seem somewhat paranoid and whatever info we have is prolly no better or worse than the other guy...but I do like space at a draft.

Hey Greg - this is going to sound really weak, but would you consider putting little tape marks on the table measured out and clearly marked? As much as one might assume people would work together to make the space work... there's always some stubborn jackass who feels like he's got his space staked out and since he got their first it's his. (Kind of like a land grab...)



I know how my luck works - this selfish S.O.B. will end up next to me everytime

And don't you hate it when the big fat guy always draws the middle seat in a plane next to you? I'm flying to Houston tomorrow and I'm sure that will happen. I'm not sure about the tape on the tables, but I'll ask Les Nesman of WKRP if he can tape out an imaginary office for me in each city. Seriously, I think we'll find a way to make this cozy and yet not restrictive. We have plenty of space in all three cities and we'll do our best to make the U shaped draft tables work for everyone. When we have the exact space per person figured out, I'll let you know what that is. But I can tell you for a fact that not everyone is bringing a partner and in fact it might be closer to 50 percent rather than 75 percent, which I first estimated. So there may be space to spare.



I'm off to Houston tomorrow and out of touch for a little bit, so everyone behave here. I'm putting Leaderboard Sports in charge of the Message Boards, so no naughty words while I'm airborne.

Nah, all that tells you is that I'm old enough to know that show first-hand, which I think first aired in 1978 when I was a college boy. Didn't get that one off Nick At Nite, that's for sure. I was a radio-TV major at the time and I wanted a job like that and a secretary like Loni Anderson. None of it worked out or I wouldn't be on these damn Message Boards with you guys.
