Team/League count by city

Post by viper » Sat Feb 28, 2004 10:05 am

I suspect everyone would like to know how many leagues each city has already. Technically, there could be 42 teams entered and not a single league formed if the mix was 14 in each city. Starting the 1st of March, a league count by city would be good. Of course, you could also note the number of teams that have signed up but are in need of a full league to be formed in order to participate.

Greg puts together great NFBC newsletters each week! Last week (just talking Main Event Registrations, not including Auction Leagues), Las Vegas was working on league #5. NY has had a run of signups lately it looks like, so they're probably starting on league #4 by now. Chicago, where I'm headed, was still filling league #2 there.

Greg lists all the signups as he gets them on the other thread "Who's Signed Up and Where?" so I don't think it's necessary to duplicate that information in another thread just so we can all know the exact number everywhere at all times.

I have a feeling there is going to be a rush of signups in the next couple weeks, as fence-sitters start hopping in en masse. A thread dedicated to showing the exact number in each city at all times, if anything, might slow down signups, as all the fence-sitters would continue waiting and watching for all the other fence-sitters to join first...

As Jon said, I send out weekly newsletters to NFBC members and I'm proud of the numbers we have to date as reported in Friday's NFBC newsletter. We are working on league #5 in Las Vegas, league #4 in New York and league #2 in Chicago. I fully expect New York and Chicago to draw last minute signups and we'll find a way to fit them in. I want to avoid partial leagues in each city as well and I'll deal with that if it happens. But at the very least by the numbers I've revealed here, you can tell there's no turning back now and it's just a matter of how many final teams we'll have battling for the grand prize.

Viper, you can always call me at 715-445-4612, ext. 284 or e-mail me at [email protected] if you have further questions. We're fully open with our info.

Given I just signed up, I haven't had a chance to see any newsletters. I would love getting the old ones if someone would send them my way. The e-mail is [email protected].

As I prepare for the draft, I guess I would like warm and fuzzy feeling that my team has a slot and won't miss out on the festivities because the NY final league did not fill out.

Viper, you are in a full league for New York already, trust me. Make those travel plans from Virginia and we'll see you there.

Just so everyone knows, I have a plan in place to take care of partial leagues in each city, so don't think you'll be left out if you sign up this week. Our goal is to fill complete 15-team leagues in each city, but there's an easy way to combine a league with participants from other cities. Everyone would still be live at the draft table in their respective cities and we could still get it done. So sign up with confidence and we'll fit you in.

10-4. If somehow I missed anyone who has already signed up for the NFBC or a co-manager, e-mail me at [email protected] and I'll get you on the group list. The newsletters go out at the end of the each week and updates everyone on the status of the event and more. We'll continue those through the year and get them out on Mondays or Tuesdays to highlight league leaders, weekly winners, the NFBC overall leader and more. Should be fun and it should keep everyone up-to-speed with everything going on.

I'll e-mail that out to you and your partners right now. My goal is to send it out on Wednesday as I'm leaving for the LABR draft in Phoenix on Thursday. Two ballgames and then an NL Auction against John Hunt and the boys is on the schedule for this week!!!
