What is the timeframe for acquiring free agents?

Will there be time between the draft and opening day, March 30th?

Please explain in a little more detail, Conditional Bids.

Thanks

Yes, the first FAAB period will be the week of March 29-April 4, with the deadline being 7 p.m. EST on Sunday, April 4. Yes, there are two Japan games that week and one Sunday night game, but you'll have to have those players in a set lineup if you want their results. The FAAB pickups can be activated in time for Monday, April 5's games.

Hope this helps.

And I was assuming if I bid $10 on a FAAB, and someone else bids $11 or more on the same player, I don't lose my $10. Or do I? Just wanted to be sure.

If you are outbid, you do not lose your money. You spend money only when you are successful and acquire someone.

10. Conditional Bids: Conditional bids can also be offered. In the event you may lose out on a player, you can place conditional bid(s) for other players during the bidding time frame. The first conditional bid will become relevant only if you lose out on the first bid. Subsequent conditional bids will become relevant only if the previous conditional bid fails. Bids do not require conditional bids. Bids may have several sequential conditional bids.

If you want a decent chance of winning some $$, I suggest you read the rules. Thanks.

I gave a similar example to this in a chat session and Greg said it was right.

I drop Sosa and

1. if available, I add pujols for $5

2. if pujols is gone, I add Berkman for $7

3. if berkman is gone, I add Sorinao for $2

4. if Soriano is gone, I add Nefi Perez for $500

I admit I am not sure how the site automatically handles this but you can always call

Gordon and Viper have accurate posts. Conditional bids are quite easy as it allows you to present as many scenarios as it takes to fill that hole in your lineup. Make 8 claims if you want to make sure you get one of those guys and you'll only be charged for the one that was accepted.

You will never be charged for a bid attempt. If last year you bid $500 for Miguel Cabrera when he got called up and someone else bid $501, you keep your $500.

Please continue to ask questions on FAAB as I want everyone comfortable with this. FAAB is a blast and a lot of in-season strategy will be needed to pick up the Scott Podsedniks of 2004, if you know what I mean.

Myself, Rock y and Tom will all be available at the drafts to explain this process if you have questions. Thanks and good luck everyone.
