Rosters and Players Coming OFF the DL

A question for Greg or someone --

If you set your line-up Monday morning with the knowledge that a player is very likely, but NOT 100% certain, to come off the DL later that week, does doing so (i.e., activating that DL listed player) in that week's line-up constitute a valid, or invalid, lineup?

Of course, the DL-listed player qualifies at the position you've chosen for them, and all else with your line-up is acceptable...

THANKS ... (from the team with FIVE DL'ers!!!)

There is nothing wrong with having DL'ed players in your active lineup. Stats will be minimal but it won't hurt BA, ERA or WHIP. The only requirement is that every position is filled by a player who is qualified at that position.

What Viper said. It is not illegal to have a DL player in one of your required positions and you can certainly put that player in your starting lineup with the thought that the player will be activated after Monday. No problem at all.
