I'm looking for clarification on this following transaction:
1) bid $50 for b.santiago drop t.hall
a)contingency bid $10 t.greene drop b.mayne
2) bid $50 for t.greene drop t.hall
another team bid $80 for b.santiago so therefore I do not get him. no one bids on t.greene other than myself. How does this resolve itself ? The reason behind this trans. is that I'd like to have both santiago and greene, greene being a bonus if I get santiago so i dont want to pay $50 for him too. However if I dont get Santiago then I MUST have greene.

FAAB scenario question
You should not be allowed to bid on a player with different amounts. It gives you 2 bites at the apple. What SHOULD happen is only your highest bid is allowed.
What actually will happen, well we'll let Greg say.

FAAB scenario question
The highest bid for Greene in your example above is $50, so you would get Greene and drop Hall based on your parameters. The answer to your question is revealed in your own rationale:
"IF I dont get Santiago THEN I MUST have greene."
What you've described here is a CONTINGENCY in the event that you don't get your first choice.
"greene being a BONUS if I get santiago"
What you've described here is best suited for an additional bid.
So, in order to achieve your desired bidding outcome, here is how the bids should be set up based on your rationale:
1) bid $50 for b.santiago drop t.hall
a)contingency bid $50 t.greene drop t.hall
2) bid $10 for t.greene drop b. mayne
I hope that this helps.
