Tom,
Recognizing that the faab deadline is Sunday evening and the roster lineup deadline is Monday before first pitch, when we faab a new player and the player waived is active, and at a different postion, do we have to do anything to make our roster legal at the same time as our faab bid, or, will the system recognize that we have the time until the Monday dealine to set our rosters for the upcoming week?
And when will the faab results be posted?
thanks
Coops

The FAAB results will be posted shortly after the bidding closes each week. STATS does a great job of getting those up quickly. As far as setting your lineup as long as you have an eligible roster you'll be able to set it up until one minute before the start of each week's games.

I'm sorry, this is a hard question to type. Let's say we faab a hitter and waive an active pitcher. STATS won't say you can't do it because your team will be illegal from Sunday night until Monday before first pitch?

Jeff, you must be able to field a legal roster at all times. So you can't make any moves that would result in an illegal roster.

So... if we wanted to faab a hitter and release a pitcher, we better make sure that the pitcher is in our reserves the week prior?

Jeff, you can drop any player you want at any time as long as it's not someone who would come up for review by myself and Greg. The only thing is you must always have a legal lineup after any moves you make.

I didn't play baseball last year, but in FB, I could release my starting TE, sign a RB, and then LATER before the deadline, insert a TE that was on my bench the prior week.
Don't see why it would be different in baseball.
My lineup would be "illegal" until I submitted a lineup. And, Stats would just tell you that you were a TE short, they didn't stop the FA move.

Since you had the extra TE on your roster you were able to make the move so it was never an illegal move. I know what you're saying and I'm not sure if STATS has a system in place to prevent such a move because as you point out, your move was never illegal. What STATS does do is run a system check of all leagues to make sure everyone has a legal lineup or the ability to set a legal lineup.
The bottom line here is as long as you can set a legal roster after all of your moves those moves will be allowed.

so, typically when would the FAAB results be announced? By what time on the Sunday evenings? I would also be getting my lineups in that same night, I for the most part will not be able to do it on Monday's.

Last year the waivers for your league cleared within 1 hour of the deadline and you could see the transactions within your league page at that time. Tom would then blast through them league by league on Monday outlining where key players were going in various leagues.
I would expect within 1 hour after deadline - but be wary of a slight delay in the first week as they get the gremlins out of the system.

Dave's correct. STATS did a great job last year of having the current week's FAAB moves posted shortly after the period ended. You should have plenty of time to check everything out and set your rosters for the following week after the period ends.

I apologize if this is already covered in another post, but for us "Rookies", I would like to know what is the formal process for making a FAAB bid. Is it an e-mail to stats, a private message, or some other form of communication that needs to be made, that I can not readily see at this moment.

Go to your League Home page or Team Home page and select the transaction button and go from there. However, since the league are not yet loaded, the free agents are not either.

I figured that was what we should do, but couldn't see the area where FAAB bids could be made. Guess I'll wait until the rosters are in before I look again.
