Position Eligibility Lists

Are the position eligibility lists complete yet, and will they be emailed, posted or both? Originally posted by Greg Ambrosius: Yes, they're in your Fantasy Sports Magazine under the Cheat Sheets that you should have in your hands by now. All NFBC members get subscriptions to our pub. We will likely e-mail a file to everyone before the draft, too. Originally posted by Captain Hook:

2) Is the available draft population the 40 man rosters? if so as of what date? Originally posted by Greg Ambrosius:

The 40-man rosters available on Draft Day will also be e-mailed to everyone before the event. We'll likely take the lists as of March 8th or 9th and finalize it then. That should give everyone time enough to know who is available. Remember, we may make exceptions to that list, but those exceptions will be listed on the sheet we send out. Sheets will also be available at the draft if you have questions. greg - has KP decided on a deadline for determing the eligibility lists and how the lists will be distributed? IMO the sooner the better (as far minimizing draft day problems). thanks.

Gordon, we will put together the eligility list based on the 40-man rosters (as well as key free agents) next week. We want to wait as long as possible so we don't have to provide countless number of updates due to player signings and all that.

We will e-mail everyone the list and it will also be available onsite for everyone as well. We'll make sure everyone has plenty of time to have access to it in advance.

tom - is every player currently listed on your website (fantasysportsmag.com) going to be included in the list you guys are working on?

meaning...

1) the list on the website is good to go, pending any ADDITIONS you guys make?

2) players currently listed on the website won't be deleted

thanks.

Gordon, the official list will be determined by each team's 40-man rosters. In addition, we will go through and add some notable free agents (Roger Clemens, Tino Martinez are two examples) who will also be eligible to be drafted. I will go through out rankings on FantasySportsMag.com to compile a list. If there is someone you or others see who may not be listed or you have questions about please let us know so we can make a decision.

If you include Tino on the list, you may as well include John Kruk and Harold Reynolds. Heck, you can add Karl Ravech and Peter Gammons, too!

When you typed Tino Martinez was "notable", you forgot to hit the space bar after "not".

I wasn't attempting to provide commentary on how good the player was, just whether he would be on the list or not. :D

Suggestion - on the home page you show a position eligibility list. Listed is Utility/DH. What's the point in that? Obviously, everyone is eligible for UT.

Why not instead show DH/UT-only qualified players so we know immediately which guys don't have other eligibility.

why would clemens be eligible for the draft if he is not on a 40-man roster by draft day?

Tom/Greg-

I'd also like to know why Clemens will be draftable (and has been in the Sat. leagues) when he is not on a 40 man roster in either league.

Please explain. Thanks in advance.

I'd guess that he's listed because now all drafters know he's listed and can take the chance...seems like you wish to create a problem out of nothing...he's listed for everyone...no disadvantage.

We will make the list available hopefully no later than Friday. It will also be available for every owner at their drafts/auctions next week.

Aaron, we have always allowed unsigned free agents to be eligible. That rule has been in place since our first year. Given the dates of our drafts/auctions in comparison to the start of the season it makes sense to allow them to be drafted.
