Where is the official list?

An example of my confusion is Ian Kinsler.

The system shows him as a shortstop and Fantasy Sports magazine shows him as a second baseman.

Kinsler is a second baseman -- he didn't play in the majors in 2005, and 2B is the position he played the most last year.

Use the list at www.fantasysportsmag.com (use the Baseball-->Cheat Sheets-->Mixed Cheat Sheets link) as your guide, and forget all the rest.

All players must have played 20 games in 2005 or 10 games during the 2006 season to qualify at a certain position. Minor-leaguers who did not play 20 games at any position in 2005 but who still played at least one game in the majors last year, will qualify at the position they played the most at in the majors in 2005.please clarify this rule.what constitues a minor leaguer? a player who was brought up from the minors for the first time aka ryan shealy or prince fielder.or a player whos been up more than once but has less than 130 at bats?thanks for a reponse on this.

A minor leaguer is a player who did not play at all in the majors last year. September callups earn their eligibility for 2006 based on the most games played in the majors during that callup. As for Fielder, he wasn't a September callup and played enough games to qualify at a position, unfortunately in our view that position was Utility not 1B.

Kinlser is the 8th name from the bottom on the SS eligibility list on the website link.

Please clarify/confirm whether he will be SS eligible.

Gekko,

Never said it was 'official'. However, I have always assumed that was the official list. If you or someone else knows otherwise, feel free to enlighten me.

Greg,

In the meantime, can you clarify/confirm whether:

a) the NFBC website's POS. ELIGIBILITY in the bottom right corner is the Official Position (not Draft) Eligibility List, and

b) Is Kinsler, 8th from the bottom on the SS List, indeed SS eligibile for 2006.

This is the first I have heard that the Fantasy Mag link is the Official Position Eligibility List. If so, where on the message board or emails has Greg/Tom advised us of such? In addition, then why does the NFBC site even have the POS. ELIGIBILITY link/list, and why isn't it the same as Fantasy Mag?

Greg - Where are you? Clarify this will ya?!

Greg/Tom

Is the POS. ELIGIBILITY LINK on the NFBC website (lower right corner) or Fantasy Mag website (Cheat Sheets) the official Position Eligibility for the Main Event?

Reason being, Kinsler is listed as a SS on the NFBC website. Other than Draft Elgigibility (ie 40 Man Roster) I don't ever remember the NFBC stating that the Fantasy Mag is our reference for Position Eligibility.

Can we make this clear today?

Can we make this clear today? in the future i would suggest having ONE document listing the 40-man rosters and FA, along with their respective position eligibility.

From the "official" position eligibility list for NFBC: http://www.fantasysportsmag.com/Default.aspx?tabid=796

I think that "141. Brandon Wilson, Wash. $1" is actually Brandon Watson.
