Greg or Tom,
How quickly will they get that little DL icon to appear following the news that a player is put on the DL? As a Julio Lugo owner with a strong MI bench, I'd like to replace him tonight. I believe the DL decision will be made today by Tampa Bay.

from Greg's other post about this it seems that if he wasn't DL'd by midnight on Thursday it is too late for you. Sorry bud.

If TB doesn't DL him until Friday then I can live with that. My concern is they DL him late today and it doesn't get shown on the set lineup page of the website.

Word around here is Lugo is NOT going to be placed on the DL...but as with the many other false reports, this could just be one of those "lies"
But I would say from the looks of things, he will miss another game or maybe two.
I am sure the Upton owners are salivating over this.

I'll e-mail STATS and see what the answer is there.

I do not know how long it takes STATS to get this official information from Major League Baseball, but the bottom line is that if it's not official by 12:01 a.m. tomorrow, then he can't be reserved. Teams say they're going to do things all the time and it's possible they will do it before midnight, but if it's not officially listed on our site then he can't be removed from your starting lineup. Good luck with this one, and sorry about the early injury.

From STATS: "It's updated overnight every night. So, if a team OFFICIALLY places the player on the DL today, he'll be listed as such on the set lineup page tomorrow and can be benched then. But, just so they're clear, players are rumored to be going on the DL all the time, but we can't mark them as on the DL until the official transaction goes through."

mlb.com reports that Lugo has been placed on the DL, so it looks like more than a rumor at this point )

I wonder what time they run the batch job to get the dl status. I hope earlier like around 8 or 9 pm so if someone goes on dl thursday day the official dl status will get updated in time.....

It's common knowledge that they likely will put him on the DL later today, but we only allow these mid-week moves for players who are officially on the DL and Gagne is not officially on MLB's DL list as of yet.
This will likely happen more than once this year and it's the slow process that MLB teams use to file with the league. We will not manually place anyone on this list and will rely on Major League Baseball for the official word on all DL placements.
Good luck everyone.

Thanks for checking on this.
It works even better than you described.
Lugo's DL was announced late Thursday and the DL appeared pretty quick the same day.
What's up with all these abdominal injuries anyway?
