The following post was from Greg earlier this month.
"Again, if he doesn't have a DL listing next to his name first thing Friday morning, he won't get one after that. STATS gets the official listings from MLB and I've told them that our cutoff is 12:01 a.m. each Friday. Anyone who officially goes on the DL after that won't be allowed to be reserved on your team. Simple as that.
Good luck everyone.

The following is from the official rules concerning Friday moves.
"However, owners are also allowed to remove a player (or players) who is officially on the DL from their starting lineup with one of their players from their reserve roster before each Friday's first game as long as the position eligibility works out. Players must officially be on the DL list according to STATS for this move (or moves) to take effect for the weekend games"
Unfortunately, these two statements/rules contradict each other in that a player placed on the DL list at 6am and also so noted as a DLed player by STATs could be moved out of the starting lineup unless, of course, the first Friday game is at 5:30am.
This appears to be the case with D.Lee. Everything I read says he was DLed on Friday (mlb.com, rotoworld, etc.) and yet a team in NY1 had him starting Mon-Thur and on the bench for Fri-Sat.
I have no clue on the Motos final solution but he was definitly DLed on Wedneday and numerous posts indivcated that as late as thursday night, Stats did not have him so indicated.
I am a solid proponent of the Friday move rule but inconsistencies in the rules and the statements from Greg plus delays so far noted in just the first three weeks on the season, make me want to reassess my position.

The rule should be "put out of its' misery" and done away with. Did not like it from the beginning and the Matoes, Lee situations enforces that feeling.

Rule 13 has been updated with the following:
13. Setting Starting Lineups: NFBC owners are allowed to change their starting lineups five minutes before the first game each Monday and that lineup remains intact for the rest of the week. However, owners are also allowed to remove a player (or players) who is officially on the DL from their starting lineup with one of their players from their reserve roster before each Friday's first game as long as the position eligibility works out. Players must officially be on the DL list according to STATS for this move (or moves) to take effect for the weekend games. STATS will update the DL listings at 12:01 a.m. CST, each Friday and that will be the final update before Friday's games. If a player is not officially on the DL before then, he will not be allowed to be reserved even if a DL shows up next to his name during Friday. The official cutoff for this is 12:01 a.m. CST and no exceptions will be made.

Shoot! I missed Randa's 1 for 7 weekend since I stopped checking Lee at noon on Friday!
Sadly, depending on the day, that 1 for 7 might help my team's current average.

OK... NEW QUESTION, same topic.
I have a DL'd SP who is active. Don't have any available P's on the bench to take his place, so I will be picking a P up from the wire this weekend.
Now... is there a way to drop a bat for an arm, and have the arm active for the coming period? It seems like I have to make that FAAB move on Sunday, then wait until that Fri. to swap the DL'd P for the benched healthy P. Is that the case? Help pls....
Thanks.

Thanks. I may have read this wrong, but no, you will not have to wait until the next Friday.
If you have an eligble player obtained from the Sunday FAAB, you can move that player into the DL'd players spot as normal. It is just you must do it before the first game on Monday. This would be treated as any other of your line-up transactions with any player eligable to be moved in or out as long as you have a legal line-up when you are done.
The Friday "DL Replacement Rule" is specific to only DL'd players. Generally it is used to replace DL'd players who obtain that dubious distinction between the start of Mondays first game to 12:01 am CST Friday.

Okay, so to clarify, I do not have to have my weekly rosters finalized by 5pm Sun night - thats only the deadline for FAAB bids. Once I have landed my P via the FAAB process, I can go back in Monday morning and make the roster move.
Is that the case? Man, I'm making a lot of rookie mistakes so far....

Is that the case? Yes it is. The Sunday deadline only applies to our FAAB deadline. That isn't the deadline for setting your rosters for the coming week.
