Is it me, or is "Runs" as a category a little out of whack this year. For the NFBC, in 2004 and 2005, the team that garnered 80% of the available "Runs" points in the overall averaged about 1,121 (1,158 in '04 and 1,084 in '05). As expected, these numbers are slightly higher (56 and 32, respectively) than RBI's.



I am generally one of the balanced team advocates. Therefore I targeted my team to try and get at least 80% of the available points in all categories. RBI's seem to be tracking pretty much as expected, but Runs are different. At the end of Week 9, I was tracking right on target to get 1,121 Runs on my team this year (would actually like to be tracking a little higher given the September doldrums, but all in all I still have a good chance to finish on target). What gets me is that in the overall I am in 223 place as of today in the Runs category.



What am I missing? Is September so bad that I need to have 90% or 95% of my Runs by the end of August? If so, why does that not seem to be the case for RBI's, which are tracking much closer to the average?



Just looking for opinions....

Compared with 2005, all Offensive categories are out of whack. 2006 looks more like 2004 now. However, I would agree Runs seem more out of whack than the other 4 cats.

Maybe pitchers are getting a lot more RBI than last season

I can't recall a more deep with quality SS/2B (MI) year...and such a thin OF as well...is it just me?

~Lance I agree...I cannot locate a solid fifth outfielder (normally even my UT is an outfielder). I have tried Matos, Burke, Bloomquist. J. Reed has been my normal one and he has all but sucked swamp water this year. Either there are not any solid options that have risen from the FAAB, or I have just missed them.

~Lance I couldn't agree more...and its throwing me out of whack. The 2B/SS position is practically stacked. Guys like F. Sanchez and J. Lopez are deepening the pool...these are guys who weren't even drafted in many leagues.
