prize structure for ties

It occurs to me that when teams are tied they are listed at different places in the standings, for example 2 and 3 instead of 2 and 2. How does the NFBC award prizes to tied teams? Are they divided between the two people or is there a reason teams are listed at different places, i.e. ERA is the tie-breaking category? Seems like I should know this, but I don't.

There are no tiebreakers in the NFBC. We split the money evenly. In fact, last year there was a three-way tie for first place in New York League 3 (hard to believe, isn't it?) and they each won $2,500. I'm not sure any of those guys felt satisfied as a half-of-a-point was worth an additional $2,500.
We had a tie for third place, too last year. Just split the money.
