"All players must have played 20 games in 2006 or 10 games during the 2007 season to qualify at a certain position. Minor-leaguers who did not play 20 games at any position in 2006 but who still played at least one game in the majors last year, will qualify at the position they played the most at in the majors in 2006. If a prospect didn't play at least one game in the majors last year and he makes the 2007 Opening Day roster, he will qualify at the position he played the most at in the minors in 2006 (i.e., Alex Gordon earns a roster spot with the Royals in the outfield, he would qualify at third base because that's where he played the most in 2006 at Double-A Wichita). Any minor-leaguer who didn't play any games in the majors in 2006 and who starts the 2007 season in the minors will earn position eligibility for 2007 based on his minor-league games played total in 2006 and he will earn other position eligibility after he plays 10 games at a different position in the majors. If a player returns from retirement or rehab after missing the previous year, his position eligibility will be his previous year's eligibility."

Jeff Baker played 17 games in the outfield and 1 at 1B. He qualifies in the outfield because he was a late season callup.

We have another example like Prince Fielder last year: Kevin Kouzmanoff. He played 14 games at DH last year and 2 at 3B. Now he's been traded to San Diego and will likely start at 3B, but in the NFBC he will have DH-only eligibility to start the season. Once he plays 10 games there this year, he will qualify at third base. Just an FYI as you prepare your Cheat Sheets.

Greg,

Can you make sure that all NFBC Position Eligibility lists are consistent? That includes the website, handouts, and files. Thanx

[/QUOTE]Yes, these are done and I apologize for not posting these yet. Tom and I just talked about this yesterday. We'll get the lists to STATS first thing next week and create a Position Eligibility link with all of the players. I promise to get this done next week. Sorry for the delay.
