Draftable Players List with Elgibility

Greg / Tom,

You guys run a great program, but one thing has been frustrating the last two years. Specifically, a robust, easy to use list of all potential DRAFTABLE players with position elgibility clearly spelled out.

This this should be provided both in a PDF print version by team and by name with position elgilibyt noted, and as an EXCEL File. The excel file should have the following noted:

Last name, first name, team, positions elgible for

Thanks so much for addressing this early. We have had several SNAFUs in the drafts like people drafting invalid players, people drafting invalid teams that this really should be addressed. You tried a PDF before, but it was too small (tried to get on 1 page) and no Excel version was created

It is also help in the electronic satellite drafts as those sites have different elbility rules as well.

I really hope this can be addressed this year.

Thanks

Chris

Draftable Players List with Elgibility

As I understand it all players, minor and major, are eligible to be drafted (new for this year) and all major league players are listed in the position eligibility links off of the home page (they can't very well list every minor leaguer). Should be good enough, right?

Just a question...

Say I draft an unlisted minor leaguer. He played 50+ games in 2006 as an OF.

When he gets called up...is he in limbo and only qualified as UTI until he plays X amount of games at the major league level at a certain position?

~Lance Any minor-leaguer who didn't play any games in the majors in 2006 and who starts the 2007 season in the minors will earn position eligibility for 2007 based on his minor-league games played total in 2006 and he will earn other position eligibility after he plays 10 games at a different position in the majors.

Lance, he would be an OF the second you activate him.

Chris from the Rule Changes link...

Draftable Players: The NFBC is allowing all players to be selected on Draft Day as we are NOT limiting eligible players to 40-man rosters in 2007. Even unsigned veterans and low minor-leaguers are eligible to be drafted in 2007.

Thanks for clarifying, I guess I can go build my own spreadsheet, but really is a pain screen scraping
