Power and Speed

No, not HRs and SBs....

Greg,

1. Will there be power available for laptop users for the Main Event and Ultimate Auction?

2. If I'm pretty adept, will I be able to keep up with everyone's picks on the computer during the Main Event? Auctions are no problem, but I have no idea on the speed of a draft in the Main Event.

I can answer the power portion of your question. Basically there is none at the tables. Bring an extra battery or find an outlet along the side walls to charge-up at the breaks.

As for the speed, it really depends on how fast you type and how fast you are on the laptop. The firs few rounds go pretty fast. Then it S-L-O-W-S down.
OK - So I'm not as good as I thought I was; but at least I am consistent.

I have checked with the hotel already. They have told me there is no wireless connection available without paying a fee of, I believe she said $500. She suggested using the cellular wireless card, which is what I will be using to be able to get onto the internet. Sprint allows you to have the card for $40/month and then put your card into what they call seasonal standby, where you only pay $5/month.

Hope that helps you.

Nothing so great as 12 spring training games starting within 10 minutes of the Main Event! :(

Draft a player one minute...and he's out for the season before the draft is over!

I sure hope not.

Let's all mob the guys with internet access during the breaks!!!

Sorry Marv, I didn't see this question. There are no power strips at the main event, so bring two strong batteries. You can recharge in any outlet you can find during the breaks, but we don't allow plug-ins for a number of reasons.

The Ultimate Auction League is a private league, but I'm not sure if we have outlets in that room or not. I'll look into it.

All of the convention centers charge big fees for wireless and we have not ordered it in any city. If someone is able to hook to the Internet by other means, we can't stop them. Good luck to all this weekend.
