Free Agent Bidding question

Post by FantasyAddict » Wed Apr 01, 2009 2:02 am

Ok this is my first time playing in a format where you have to bid for free agents. Im curious as to what an average bid is and if there is any reference that put's a bidding price on all the players. Any feedback/advice would be greatly appreciated.

You want to bid very small amounts in the beginning because you do not want to spend all your money ;)

Every week's winning FAAB bids are available for viewing on the Message Boards. Do this:

Go to NFBC General Discussion

Look at the top where it says "Show Posts From Last 45 Days"

Pull That down to "Show Posts From Past Year"

Then click on page 21. Look down the list on that page and you'll see Week 2 FAAB Bids thread. All of the winning bids for that week are there.

Keep going backwards to page 20, 19, etc. and you'll see threads for Week 3 FAAB Bids, Week 4 FAAB Bids, etc.

That will show you past winning bids and how much folks were able to get Cliff Lee for and some other key free agents. You'll also see some folks who overbid early and were lost the rest of the year. Enjoy.

Free Agent Bidding question

To be honest, it's the hardest part of the game. If there is a "MUST HAVE" free agent that will make or break your team, bid what you feel will get him; especially if he is an impact player that everyone will want. Maybe $260+. But, keep in mind, players get hurt day in and day out. Your $1000 has to last 26 full weeks. I always run out of money earlier than planned.

OK - So I'm not as good as I thought I was; but at least I am consistent.
