Where did I go wrong? MAIN Event

Looking for some input on where I went wrong and being in 389th place must mean I did NOTHING right on draft day.
Pick 9 – Rollins. I was surprised he was still on the board at that point and thought that the Phillies had a decent lineup and that he would be leading off.
Pick 22 – With Rollins (leadoff hitter) on board I was thinking that Power and BA were my main needs in the second round and Carlos Lee was suppose to be a plus average Power Hitter.
Pick 39 – I wanted Alexie at this point, but after my awful pitching numbers last year (every year) thought that CC would be a great anchor for my staff. Like that he goes deep into games and thought he was the only pitcher that could K over 250 and with the Yankee offense that 20 wins wasn’t that big of a reach.
Pick 52 – Trying to get a reasonable balance between Speed and Power in the early rounds I thought McLouth, a three hitter with 20/20 skills should keep my lineup balanced.
Pick 69 – How can the 69th pick be a bad thing? I took my top ranked Closer as I thought that only a handful had certain closer roles. Nathan gave me a top RP to go with a top SP and would mean that I wouldn’t have to chase any pitching over the next three or four rounds (when all the solid closers would go).
Pick 82 – MI looked weak to me this year and Uggla looked to be the top Power MI in the draft. Uggla is one of my least favorite players, but I like his power numbers. I knew that this would mean that I would need to go after BA to make up for this pick, but was targeting Mauer (man crush) anyway.
Pick 99 - Mauer (At least I still have reason to believe my team will improve its BA)
Pick 112 – Cano – I thought MI was weak and that Cano should rebound to his plus BA levels and as the everyday 2B in NY he should get solid runs and RBI.
Pick 129 – Dice-DL, here I had a tier of SP that I wanted and with CC on board and drafting near the middle I was looking for SP to slip to me. If I didn’t have CC, I would have went for Dicey at least a round earlier – I was impressed with the changes I thought I saw in the WBC (going after hitters more aggressively).
Pick 142 – Cliff Lee. Didn’t really like or want him, but he was the last SP in my tier and was coming off the AL CY Young (The reason he was in that tier).
Pick 159 – Needed a CI and thought Beltre was a great deal and remember his last contract year. I thought that there were lots of solid CI (Giambi, Butler rostered on this team later among them) that would be available in the last third of the draft
Pick 172 – Fourth SP Verlander – was thinking he could rebound and that the Tigers would score enough to make him a winner. I wanted to have 4 SP that should total 700+ between them without giving up ERA or Whip.
Still seems to me (looking up from the bottom) that this was a solid start to the draft, but obviously I am wrong. At the draft the players seemed to fall to me and most on my picks were easy as I thought the player that I took was a no brainer (someone I was looking at the round – or more – before where I took them).
Fire away! (Thanks for your input)
