Slow draft description

Post by Fourslot40 » Thu Jan 28, 2010 1:18 pm

I think I understand the concept of the slow draft but would anyone mind sharing how this works? Especially, the time in between picks and how far apart the completion is.

I'm sure that this is common question so I will apologize in advance if I'm asking a stupid question.

I like the idea of no free agent pickups during the season so this is interesting to me. Thanks.

15 team mixed leagues....12 hours between picks maximum. You pick 45 players and get no free agents during the season.

Easier to manage over the course of the year w/o FAAB to worry about but if you take too many flyers on high risk players, you can very quickly be hosed.

Slow drafts generally take 2-3 weeks to complete depending on the availability of the owners.
People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring.

You'll get some people who almost always pick within 5 minutes, and others who take there time to the extreme, and a few in between. That's all a matter of luck.

Towards the end, more people go on auto and it goes faster.
