Would Neftali be available?
I have seen examples throughout the year of free agents dropped and then debates on whether they should or should not be in pool. I am running away with saves in one of my leagues and need to drop a closer at some point. My original plan was obviously to drop the weakest, but then I started wondering could I keep others from picking up any saves by dropping a closer that would be considered to strong to be in the pool. My specific example would be that if I dropped Neftali Feliz would he be available in the free agent pool? My understanding is that this is a subjective call.

We have this happen each year when it comes to closers and sometimes even base stealers. We realize why owners need to cut these guys and for the most part we let those leagues play out. We can't pull out every single closer especially with fewer weeks left in the season.
I'd have to look at each situation to make sure there's nothing more going on than too many saves on a first place team, but past history would say that closers are left in the league FAAB pool as we get to August and September.
