Top 5 SP on draft day

Post by seefer » Mon Feb 27, 2006 3:07 pm

The problem with drafting King Felix is that Seattle will seriously monitor his workload for the season. I've already read that he is going to be the #5 SP for the M's.

It will be interesting to see how many times he is allowed to go beyond the magic #100 pitch count or beyond 7 innings regardless of his pitch count. And let's not forget the the M's aren't picked to contend so by Sept./Aug. he could be a 5 inning pitcher if he is pitching at all.

If healthy all year I would set the over/under on innings for King Felix at 175.

Top 5 SP? (not necessarily in this order)

Lopez, Bedard, Benson, Cabrera, Chen

What does it matter that you pitch in the bandbox of Camden, against the AL East's Murderers' Row of lineups the majority of the time, when Leo Mazzone is your pitching coach?
It's all for laughs

This might be one of the best threads I've seen you start Gordon. Where did you decide to draft?

He pitched half a year and he's only 19.

He's great but remember he's 19

I think the safer top 5 is

Santana

Peavy

Carpenter

Oswalt

Martinez (if toe is close to 100%) easy...

1. santana

2. felix hernandez

next year felix will be the #1SP to take in fantasy drafts. why? because he's gonna put up stud numbers THIS year
i had oswalt #6, but how can you repalce one the 5 studs i listed for oswalt. his whip could be better, and his k's could be better. also, he's due to bounce to a 13 or 14 win season. losing clemens will hurt oswalt IMO
I think that the Texas Rangers will try to get Roger Clemens.
