My spring training observations

Post by Chest Rockwell » Tue Mar 21, 2006 6:29 am

Just got back from the annual spring training trip- a week of getting to the ballpark at 10am and watching a lot of baseball.

Ryan Howard gets it- he wants to be great and is a really good kid. I think the people who took early picks will NOT be disappointed.

If you are looking for Granderson to hit with power beware- one of the skinniest kids I have seen up close in a long time.

Mike Mussina looked as bad as I have seen a pitcher look in a long time. Was it his dead arm start??

The ball jumps off Rocco Baldelli's bat- he could be a steal.

Damon did not look like a guy with a healthy shoulder to me.

Arod still makes Mark Srebro look like a humble man...
sent you a private message saying I like your team. I think you have it right on Bay- the theory of comparing Bay to D Lee makes no sense to me. Such a longer track record on D Lee and at different points of their careers, Bay should be on the upswing and when you have that kind of success rate running you tend to keep doing it.

I will post my team when i have a bit more time probably later this evening.

Under this logic, the average fantasy owner would hit about 35 HR.

DET - CURTIS GRANDERSON (5) OFF BRANDON BACKE IN THE 1ST

What was Bob Welch's spring ERA when he went 27-6?

Just having some fun here. Don't think Moose is going 27-6.

Welch's ERA was over 11.

As GG would say, spring don't mean "chit".
I should have had you with me for the week to explain what I was really seeing.

As bjoak would say UFS don't know "chit"
LOL. I go to Spring training for a week also.

Was actually going to go to Tampa for Spring games and NFBC until a friend from Jersey signed up for LV.

I saw Dan Haren get torched by the Rangers this same week last year after NFBC. He looked horrible . Odds are, he's working on something and doesn't care. Luckily, I was over it by my mid-season draft.

Bjoak drafted Harden in Rd 2 and Edmonds in Rd 5 in Satellite and is scared to post his team from Saturday, yet makes comments like he knows something on other teams. I'm on record that I won't post for a month if I make one comment on it. I'm glad I don't know 'chit' in his book. I hear you and him are good buddies. I didn't follow what happened on the MB before....

Post your team! Also PM me.
