Cryin' in my beer!

Post by Edwards Kings » Wed Apr 19, 2006 12:56 am

Since I have been sooooo successful the first two years, I decide to take a little change in strategy and focus a little more on pitching earlier. With that, I take Schmidt, Vazquez, D. Davis, and Millwood to anchor my staff with the hopes that Prior will be back Mid-May and give me 160+ innings the rest of the way out. All of this and two closers, too by the 16th round. For me, that is a premium on pitching.

So why am I here on April 19th with JASON JOHNSON as my best most reliable starting pitcher? One answer is I am a boob (certainly possible), the other answer is it is very early, but it is frustrating to see my pitching "studs" get lit up like gas cans such as Davis last night!
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.
