I was able to make the Braves-Phillies debacle yesterday. Saltalamacchia (lets just not overwhelm my typing an spelling abilities and call him "Saltly") started and, though I am no scout, this kid is for real. Salty won this round versus Hamels as he hit him very hard. If both stay in the same division for a while it could be a fun ride to watch those two go at it.

I have no idea what the Braves are going to do with Salty because he is wasted on the bench, and McCann is no slouch. The Braves cannot find a full-time first baseman or a left fielder, but they have two of the best young catchers.
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.
