Martin maybe goes too early to supply a return on investment, and as Pudge proves, catchers don't run forever.

Having 400 at bats from Napoli would summarily destroy your team batting average.

Pudge is maybe not a bad option if he is going to go that late.

Seems like some classic Gekko misinformation. I agree Bjoak, Russell Martin must be taken too high in order to get a solid return. Yes, I took V-Mart last year in the 3rd round with much criticism, I still think V-Mart is the stud of the class. He is quite simply the most reliable catcher.....by far. He should be rewarded with that.

It's amazing that V-Mart is so underrated every year. I believe V-Mart has potential to hit for more power than even last year. I would not take Martin over V-Mart. But pretty much every mag/analysis will have Martin at #1, and they're wrong IMHO. V-Mart's proven history is something you can count on MUCH more than R. Martin.

Just an fyi for those keeping track of my "disappointment" selections this year...

Tigers manager Jim Leyland said that Ivan Rodriguez would open the season batting ninth behind Jacque Jones.

Projected Astros starting lineup (obviously as of now) by Alyson Footer (Houston writer) for MLB as posted on the Astros website:

CF Michael Bourn

2B Kazuo Matsui

SS Miguel Tejada

1B Lance Berkman

LF Carlos Lee

RF Hunter Pence

3B Ty Wigginton

C J.R. Towles

SP Roy Oswalt

Certainly Wigginton, Towles and P is better than Everett, Ausmus and P Dan............ Thanks Perry and you are certainly correct.
I don't agree...I think Lee hits 3rd and Tejada bats fifth. Lee is better than Tejada at this point of his career. He should get more at bats.
I have the same as Shawn for Lee/Tejada. I also see Pence hitting second, with Kaz @ 7 or 8.
March 24 - Astros manager Cecil Cooper hinted that Hunter Pence might stay in the No. 2 spot in the lineup even after Kaz Matsui returns from the DL. "He's just an exciting player, and you want him to bat as many times as you can... I like to have lefthanded hitters break up the bottom (of the order), be it (Geoff) Blum or Kaz. I like that idea. We'll see when Kaz gets back in there how long we go with things," Cooper said.

Tejada also has been moved down to 5th as the MB predicted. So much for Houston writers. :D
Liking that 4th round pick even more with this news, although we figured it was only a matter of time until he was moved up in the lineup.
