Gekko - Fireside Chat_-_SHORTSTOPS

you can read the review below or watch it on YouTube...

Stud - Jimmy Rollins

Rollins is a 30/30 player as a shortstop. He hits at the top of a stacked lineup and plays half his games in a sandbox. I also think this year he hits over .300. What’s not to love? I have Rollins #2 on my board after Hanley Ramirez and before Jose Reyes. Reyes simply doesn’t hit enough homeruns to warrant being ahead of Rollins.

Forecaster Rank = 2

Fantasy Sports Rank = 3

Sleeper - David Eckstein

I picked up on two things when I heard about Eckstein’s move to Toronto. First, he won’t be hitting behind the pitcher anymore, and second he moved to a more hitter friendly ballpark. I can see both his runs/rbi’s per at bat all increase in 2008. He’s a useable player who can get cheap on draft day.

Gekko's Rank = 17

Child's Rank = Not in his top 15

Forecaster Rank = 21

Fantasy Sports Rank = 26

Disappointment - Jhonny Peralta

What happened to Peralta’s power in the 2nd half? He had 8 homeruns in close to 300 at bats!!!???!! Couple that with no speed and a batting average in the .250’s or .260’s, and you have a player to stay away from on draft day.

Gekko's Rank = 19

Child's Rank = 14

Forecaster Rank = 19

Fantasy Sports Rank = 13

Eckstein ?? LOL Geez. Guy led off 90% of the time last season and could only muster 58 runs hitting ahead of Pujs. He can barely play 120gms a season because his 170lb body can't take the daily pounding and now he's moving to Toronto's artificial cement.

Oh he's a sleeper alright... it's called eternal rest. :D
