Has anyone seen a stats analysis regarding pitchers that change teams and their performance during the first year with the new club? Im really curious about what results would be had. Most people cite the 'new ballpark' and 'run support' numbers when they talk about the effects on pitchers in new situations, but what about the other variables? Could those numbers be negated - or perhaps reversed - by other variables?
-Does the 'new' catcher call a good game?
-Pitcher > Catcher chemistry issues/benefits?
-What division did the P move to (ie. what bats are he likely to face off against)?
-Team defense
-NL vs AL (will they face a DH or a pitcher?)
-'Intangibles' (contending team? fan support? pitcher's experience when moved?)
