BTW, it's funny how people like you can never answer a question. I'm guessing it's because you don't have a legit answer.

[/QB]2 topics I was always taught to avoid w/ strangers, politics & religion. That's why I don't feel the need to answer your question. It's certainly not because I don't have a "legit answer." You assume that you're helping people, I disagree, and history has shown that religion (and it's brainwashed followers) have murdered, raped, and destroyed more lives than any other institution you can name. I do not wish to continue arguing w/ you about a subject, which we will never agree upon, but more importantly, does NOT belong here. This is about BASEBALL. That is what we have in common my friend.

One final comment I'd like to make, w/ regard to you're phrasing of the words, "people like you." Let me tell you that though I may be a godless heathen to you, I'm willing to bet that I've actually done more to "save" a person's life than you. You see I donated a kidney to a friend of mine 3 yrs ago. I didn't wait to see if the imaginary guy in the sky was going to save him, ACTION needed to be taken. I'm happy to report that my friend is doing well and thankfully in 2000 yrs, we've come along way as a civilization. We have the technology & medical know-how to perform such life saving operations. If we left such matters to PEOPLE LIKE YOU then we's still be looking for answers in a stupid book written 2000 yrs ago by idiots.

Is that a legitimate enough answer for you?

Wait a second, Rockit...

So you're saying you've actually served time in our military defending our freedoms with your life?

...and you've donated a kidney to a friend to help his life?

Don't you realize WORDS speak louder than ACTIONS these days!

Don't you know that the main reason you got some great advice is that Religion and Politics are out to sway the worlds minds to their ends, and have the bankroll to hide every evil they do!

So arguing about either is fruitless and ignorant, since we cannot know enough about either due to the cover ups and power they have established.

Think about it...if you were to start a brand new earth...and wanted control...how would you get it?

Brainwashing via fear and guilt, and military force combined with a media that fills your mind with Britney Spears and Oprah Winfrey.

I don't disagree w/ what you're saying Lance, however somebody has to fight THEM.

I don't recall saying I was a veteran, but yes I am. I served w/ the 82nd airborne div during the 1st gulf war, which was a walk in the park compared to what our soldiers are going through now. I believe I do walk the walk, so to SPEAK.

Rock.....I HATE RELIGION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you read what I've written, I'm on your side with a lot of points. The Crusades...c'mon...Bush and Cheney profiting from "fighting them over there" crap...c'mon. Relgion IS what is wrong with the world.

True belivers/followers don't believe in religion...like I said, Yeshua(Jesus) WAS ANTI-RELIGION HIMSELF.

And I'm anti-religion just as you are, just not anti-God.

And your point on people doing something...DUH, that's what your supposed to do. Instances where people just wait for divine intervention when a disease is destroying their body is just plain ignorant. God/Yeshua has already done everything to be done...Evil was defeated.....He then gave mankind a choice....he set before us life and death....we choose what we want. I've chosen life, you've currently chosen the latter.

BTW, it's not just a book of fables and myths...the people contained within can be found in history books as well as the Bible. That's basically what the Bible is, a history of God's people left for us as examples, so we can learn from them.

Kidos on giving a kidney and glad to hear your friend is doing well.

I do wonder, though, have you ever seen the wind?? Just because you don't see something doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Wanted to add....one my best friends is an athiest....so I DO NOT look down on those without faith in God.

GLY I am trying to figure out which group might be the most bothered at this point. 1) Those who get uncomfortable when God is discussed. 2) Those who get skittish when others talk about themselves to strangers with too much detail. 3) Those who are bothered when people talk about appropriate matters in an inappropriate forum. 4) Those who have a strong relationship with a higher being and get to watch you represent their sentiments via your team name, but not with your keyboard.

Wow, so far Bonderman had no K's, one walk and 2 runs in two innings. I don't watch the stats of too many guys in spring but if you were curious whether he was picking up where he left off...

I don't really have a point here, other than that I didn't make a religious rant, an existential rant, or explain how step two of AA is the most important one.

Dudes and dudettes, I'm not parading around hear smacking people on the head saying "you're healed"....if someone pokes fun or belittles, then I'm going to say something, other than that, I don't think I ever "preach" or anything of the sort.

I'm an open book, I'm not afraid to talk about ANYTHING...including my past, future, AND even things I don't agree with. Trust me, I catch enough flak from my wife when it comes to my honesty. Most people would rather be lied to than have the truth told. I'm brutally honest and I KNOW it causes problems, but oh well.

Potter, the arrogance and ignorance of many people on here bothers me at times, but I don't start a rant against them.

For the NFFC folks, maybe I should start being like KOTRAX, YOU THINK PEOPLE WOULD LIKE ME MORE THEN? ;) :D

Bjoak....Bonderman SUCKS! You just seem to like the word I and me an awful lot- sure could give the wrong impression that this is really all about you and we both know that is not true. Give it a bit of a rest would be my unsolicited advice.

Traveling pretty much every day up until the main event. I look forward to seeing old friends, making new ones, and saying hello to John Zaleski. I hope that everyone has very safe travels to the main event. Hopefully I will peek at these boards before then.

Greg- Shawn Childs has threatened my life on several occasions and my attorneys have advised me to advise you that I cannot be closer than 15 feet from him in Vegas. It should not be a problem as long as we are in different leagues:)

One more thing this event would be even more fun if Crazy was there. I probably will not draft in Vegas in 09 but I sure hope Crazy is in.

Religion can go either way, GLU. I believe some people need it to live an ethical/moral life (however you want to define that), and some people don't. I think others just need it to deal with life or keep their sanity. Belief in a higher being can very much be separate from religion for some, but others cannot separate it. Religion has been responsible for much good, but also is used as justification for violence, corruption and fraud.

I think your moniker, GLU, makes a lot of people uncomfortable because that particular phrase is very closely tied to people that preach their particular religion over another, or to those who use religion as a cover to wield power. So in using that, you in fact appear to be preaching something, religion, that you don't even believe in ... it's a little like a group of young black guys walking around a white neighborhood trying to look tough then getting pissed off because people aren't friendly to them. Whoever they are and why they're there is beside the point, a lot of people are gonna be at first glance uncomfortable. Stereotype? Yes. But if you don't want people to assume something about you, don't present yourself in such a manner ... religion has been abused so often, and by so many, that a lot of people just don't want to hear it, especially out of context, regardless of what they do or don't believe in.

Like you, I'm very willing to discuss anything, race, religion, politics (so long as the person I'm talking to isn't using all caps). ;) Even so, as you you appear to someone on these boards using that phrase who doesn't know your philosophy (or doesn't care to know), it's not gonna be very welcoming to a lot of people. Of course, that may very well be your intent. If so, carry on.

To be honest, my intent was something positive. I used to always play with the team name, "A Bunch Of Losers".....I always thought it to be funny..."Ah, man, A Bunch Of Losers won my fantasy league" or "I got beat by A Bunch Of Losers" to "I play A Bunch Of Losers this week"

When I joined the NFFC, I wanted to get rid of the negative connotation. Why not impart something good to the masses? There's people who go their entire life never seeing or hearing the phrase GLY. If but only one person realizes this through these MB's or competition, then something was accomplished, even if bantering and bickering has to taken place.
