Looks like he's going to miss even more time now -- "sidelined until at least mid-May" as per the L.A. Times.

This reminds me of what happened with Javon Walker in football and Bear Stearns in the business world. Negative initial news, followed by seemingly-positive news, and then SLAM.

In the words of my pal T.O. "Like my boy tells me: if it looks like a rat and smells like a rat, by golly, it's a rat."

2nd year of doing this- note to self- if the word "elbow" is in a sentence with a pitcher in spring training- cross him off my list. i had kazmir rated right after harang- harang was there or kazmir is on my team.

I have always taken 'elbow' people off the list. Sounds like a great approach right? Wrong! This hurt me terribly when Putz came back and was a superstar. I can't read 'elbow' for crap.

I feel for the guy in my league this year (NY4) who took Lackey in the 4th. Ouch

I took him pick 1 round 6 at about 2pm. I checked rotoworld right before the draft......nothing. I was so excited to get him in round 6.....went home thinking he was part of the best pitching staff in my league. I felt sick to my stomach when I got home yesterday and saw the news report. Think about all the hours you spend preparing for the draft and then that happens. The March 10th news report on him was totally positive. He hasn't missed a start in six years. Oh well, nothing to do now but start the season and hope that he is my only major pitching injury this year.

Ok, I'm done venting now.

I guess not pitching is better than bad pitching....and I saw plenty of that drafted on Saturday!

I felt the same way getting him at 6.2, my gut told me to take Harang or Oswalt too. Only to have Gekko and KOQ give me the bad news after the draft...oo well better to lose a Pitcher then a hitter at least thats the way I'm looking at it... :(
