Maybin vs. C Gomez? Depends upon your team's needs. If you need a major steals source, Gomez is your guy. If you're looking for a player who should steal 20-25 bags with modest power (10-15 HRs), then it's Maybin. Maybin is probably the safer pick, because the Twins still have 4 outfielders vying for three spots. If Gomez struggles, he could easily find himself on the bench.

Give me Gomez anyday...he's got 700+ AB's and he's been a semi-productive fantasy player with plenty of upside. He's not a little guy,6'4" 215lbs. I didn't realize that last year. He will hit for power and Gardy basically said over the winter that Gomez,Span & Cuddyer will be getting the AB's this year. Sure he's batting 9th but that could change. Maybin, well like all good Cub fans say, Maybin next year!!!

Would love to see some thoughts from the vets on this one. Munchers selected Maybin; I told them they should've drafted Gomez. What do others think?

i'll take gomez. he put in his year of service and i expect a modest jump in stats this year. maybin may hit .250 with <10 hr and <30sb

i think maybin underperforms what people are thinking.

Carlos Gomez-OF-Twins Mar. 23 - 6:39 pm et

Carlos Gomez is expected to be sidelined until Friday with a sore back.

Gomez last appeared in a spring game on Saturday against the Phillies. His status for Opening Day is not yet in question, but this is probably a situation worth monitoring.

I "LIKED" Gomez before, but after this news...who knows?
