St. Louis Cardinals starter Chris Carpenter has left the game in the top of the 4th inning with an apparent oblique injury.

At least it's not the elbow or shoulder. Hopefully it's a minor oblique strain, fingers crossed. Fantasy baseball aside, I have a lot of respect for Carpenter and how he's battled back from his injuries. He could be a great comeback story for baseball this year.

I just read it was a left rib cage strain that occurred during a swing in his last AB. No time table for his return and he'll be evaluated on Wednesday.
