Just looking at the lists of draftable players, 2b is much better this year....

I didn't think it was bad last year, although now many have another year of expirience. Barfield failed, but even he could be back under the right circumstances. No need to rush to 2b. I have 2 already only because they were the guys I liked at that point.

sheep don't count sheets as a pitcher- because like prior, he doesn't really pitch.

I also was not big on the Chipper pick highly doubtful Chipper will remain healthy enough to merit a fifth round pick at 36 years old.

BTW if someone thinks one of my picks are bad speak up I would rather learn a lesson here for free.

well chest- after going ramirez ramirez martinez and furcal- i was kinda dissapointed you went with dunn instead of another ramirez, martinez and keep the theme going. i am guessing if k rod or aramis weren't taken- that was where you were going.
1.01 H Ramirez (Chester Rockwell) - career year, he slides back to earth this year.

2.15 V Martinez (Chester Rockwell) - power one year, none the next, then powers up --- not a good sign, expect a down year now

3.01 M Ramirez (Chesty Rockwell) - from the look on his face, I could see him joining Ricky Williams in Jamaica anyday now

4.15 R Furcal (Chest Rockwell) - too streaky to depend on, legs breaking down robbing him of 90% of his value

5.01 A Dunn (Chester Rockwell) - probably goes back to .240 this year, and if the Reds trade him to a pitchers park, there go 10 HRs off the top

All horrible picks Chest, HORRIBLE! :D

Thanks for the input. Don't worry about offending the Sheep. I am interested to hear when someone doesn't like my pick - I like Ben Sheets (or I would not have taken him) - he was my number 1 SP in 2007 and another SP that is getting no respect - Hammels was my number 2. I know first hand that they didn't pitch every fifth day in 2007. Had I known that Sheets would have been there in round seven I would have left him on the board - isn't learning why we mock? Last year, I got grief (at MDC) taking Prince (in the fifth) at mocks.

Good forum to test the waters.

I see the Sheets pick as "wouldn't it be great to have him IF he pitches 190+ innings". Most have about 10 guys they would pick ahead of him right now. Doubtful he goes this early in the real deal.

Chipper, as proven this year, can get you 100-30-100-.300 range and not play full time. Plan on the 110 to 125 games played and have a good back-up!

But then again, one Gordon Gekko bulletin from spring training that Sheets has struck out nine of the ten batters he faced and zoom! Sheets is a second or third round pick. ;)

well- i show no messages, so it must be a clitch in the system. i doubt tejada goes this late in chicago as he will be starting for either the cubs or sox. real homer pick as he is on the long slow regression path along with young. maybe 2 positive bounce years out of the next 8.

Tejada still plays everyday (barring flukey breaks) hits for average, some power, with rbi's. Not a 3rd rounder anymore. Looks good to me here though. Like all your picks so far. Guiilen's fine, but early on I want to focus on super dependable. His only poor quality. Thought your 1,2,3,4 picks were outstanding.

6.04 C Young SP SD(Sheep)

Thought about seeing if he would be there in 23 picks since my SP rankings seem to give too much credit on a per GS basis.
Wow, no respect for Hanley...I think he will go #2 overall in March.

Manny could bounce back. I think he could slide to the end of the 3rd round in some leagues.

At this point, he has a nice base. He could have batting average protected with Hanley, Martinez and Ramirez. Who know maybe Dunn could hit .280 this year...

I picked Brian Roberts at 3.04. Too early?
