When you guys do projections, do you project from where the player starts the season in the lineup or where he'll eventually end up in the lineup? For instance Pence moving from 6th in the lineup to his probable 2nd spot. By the same token, how much would Hanley or Sizemore's draft position change if either were switched to third in their respective lineups. Does it matter where Crawford hits in the lineup? Just a few questions from someone that doesen't project player stats. I don't think there are enough hours in the day to try and figure out where everyone is going to hit. It's why Sheep's post about Houston's lineup was funny. You kind of glance at a guy's numbers and decide beginning/middle/end or just go by a projected lineup. You adjust runs vs. RBI's that way. Then you move up a tick or down based on the players around him. You can make too much out of that. If Bay hits the way he has in his good year's, he'll get his 100 RBI''s no matter who is around him.
I don't think Hanley or Sizemore could have their value change that much by a move. They are not going to hit 8th or anything so you offset the loss in runs with the increase in RBI's. I guess Hanley gets so many stolen bases out of his spot that you have to think about it. It's not a typical problem that you have to worry about with 50 different projections a year.

Good answers. I thought I was missing something when Crazy figured out that Swisher may hit 2nd and increased his runs projection from 90 to 118in the same thread!

yes, I was talking about Hill, he has some value, but with Shandler having him high and if enough discussion is high on him, he will go to high to get value from him in some drafts
