Maybe we should just use some stock market terminology...

Buy - a free agent who should be picked up

Sell - dead or nearly dead spot on your roster

Blue Chip - Player acquired in 1st 5 rounds (draft) or generally for a Salary exceeding $20 (auction)

Hold - Most players on your roster that are not candidates for Sell

Outperform - (formerly Sleeper) a player who is expected to substantially exceed draft day expectations

Just a thought for discussion...

Just a thought for discussion... Of course, if investement bankers rate a stock one way, what you should do is probably different if you actually want to outperform, thus:

Buy - a free agent who should be picked up

This means everyone will want him, so he'll be fully valued, at least.

Sell - dead or nearly dead spot on your roster

No one wants him, choose carefully from this list and you WILL be rewarded.

Blue Chip - Player acquired in 1st 5 rounds (draft) or generally for a Salary exceeding $20 (auction) These are the large-cap players of fantasy baseball, not much upside but a lot of downside if the unexpected happens since you're paying a big premium for safety.

Hold - Most players on your roster that are not candidates for Sell Probably your best potential values here, guys that are solid and some of which will give you upside, but no one is willing to pay full price for right now.

Outperform - (formerly Sleeper) a player who is expected to substantially exceed draft day expectations The momentum picks; fundamentals are good and they are trending higher for a reason. But the longer the momentum continues the higher the risk that you are the last guy in the pool holding on when they come crashing down to earth.
