Only downside to CC that people do not mention enough is he is terrible in September. You have to assume you are playing for money in Sept and he goes south on you with ticky tack injuries.

Halladay is the only under 6k/9 SP, I would consider in first 10 rounds. IMO, he is one of those better in real baseball then fantasy guys.

Hate to end the Pitching Run, but seeing as how you guys scarfed up just about everyone I was targeting. I'll shift gears and take J. Posada (C) NY Yankees at 8.08. I knew I was in trouble when Vander took Oswalt(my primary target).Thanx fellas...LOL

I paired Shields and Kazmir together 2 times last season and did ok .

IMO, Shields is a better pitcher than half the ones drafted prior to him.

Will the power come?? Will the wrist fully heal?? Will he finish the season strong?? etc, etc,etc....

I wonder how close this draft will be to what happens in March. If it is close, I am a bit depressed as I had been thinking that players like Lincecum (high upside, good success, but little major league track record) would be around in the 10-11th round vs. 7-8...

Hype alone will drive Lincecum into the single digits in most drafts., that and alot of Lincecum updates. ;)

I don't think he'll last 'til 10-11, but I also don't see him being taken in front of Halladay, Felix, Fausto and a few others very often.

i like shields a lot. being a white sox fan i see vazquez a lot. he has more "stuff" than most of these guys- including shields- but until last year he would manage to throw 10-12 bad pitches in a row in the 5th or 6th inning. if he does that in 08 again- many of the round 8 guys will outpitch him- but i foolishly think he has now "got it"

I almost took Shields, but thought Maine had a better chance of getting more W's and took him instead. I also want Lincicum, but have a hard time going with him this early. The Giants may also be awful without some offensive help. I felt I couldn't take Oswalt and Halladay since they don't generate the K's they once did.

Hill and Lincecum look like the longer shots in this pitcher run.

It appears to me most of the folks drafting in this mock draft are experienced experts. I assumed there could be a pitching run and if that happened Tim Lincecum would not make it back to me because you all would be targeting him because of his pure stuff. He has better pure stuff then any other pitcher taken in this round. That doesn't mean he'll put up better numbers then any of those players. Comparable stuff Santana,Peavy,Sheets,Hamels. I don't know Shawn Childs that well but coming next spring he'll have him on his team and I'll assume most of you will too.

Kings take Corey Patterson
