2008 mock draft

Post by Edwards Kings » Tue Nov 20, 2007 1:12 pm

I will be on the road visiting family for the holiday, coming back in late Saturday/early Sunday. I will have access, but might not be as quick as I normally am. I have not asked anyone to back me up as I plan to be online, but if the wait gets to anyone, I do not mind if someone were to make a pick on my behalf (it might be interesting to see who someone thinks I might be interested in)! :D
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

To me, nothing stands out in first couple rounds. Then the Cubs seem to be good value picks.

sheep- how in the world can d lee and ramirez be " value picks" i guess you could have 3 criteria for a "value pick" in no particular order they are 1) the player got picked below his value based on last year ( i do not believe in this- but many do) 2) the player had a bad year- but it is only one- and he has 5-6- before that that were better- he will bounce back 3) he is "the right age- and progressing- he will "break out". ramirez and lee fit none of those- plus they are corner infielders- at each position there are 8-10 "studs"- not that scarce- like catchers. don mathis went by standard #1- and to me his selections were value picks- based on that. god loves you has a formula totally based on #3- and he does well with it- so not surprising he disagrees with mathis. ramirez and lee are nice picks- but they are picks to "fill out the team" not value picks. thoughts by the real experts- chest, vander doughboys etc. are welcome and appreciated.
